Here at Keowee Smiles we believe that investing in your dentistry is one of the most important decisions you can make. Healthy teeth play an important role in maintaining a high quality of life. However, it is no secret that keeping your teeth healthy does require investment! The saying “you get what you pay for” remains as true with dentistry as it is with anything else. Our fees are based on the quality of dentistry you will receive at our office including the quality of materials we use, the technology we use in order to achieve better outcomes, and the time, effort, and skill required in performing your needed treatment.
We file all dental insurances with the exception of Medicare and Medicaid, but we are not under contract with any insurance companies. This allows us to give you the highest quality of care with the highest quality materials and technology because we are not dictated by what the insurance companies deem to be appropriate treatment at usual and customary rates.
Dental insurance is a benefit available to assist you with your dental needs, but please remember that you are ultimately responsible for payment of your treatment, regardless of insurance coverage. Your dental insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company. Therefore, you are held responsible for communications with your insurance company including confirming your benefits and coverage amounts. We will assist you with determining your benefits and eligibility before treatment to help you estimate your costs and maximize your insurance, and we are happy to submit the necessary insurance claims to see that you receive full benefits, but we cannot guarantee any estimations we give you.
Payment for services is due at the time services are rendered. If we are filing your dental insurance, then the estimated patient portion, including all deductibles and non-covered fees, is due on the day of service. Dental insurance estimates are not guaranteed and you will be responsible for any remaining balance after insurance has paid. If your insurance company reimburses you directly, then you will responsible for payment in full the day services are rendered.
We accept cash, check, and all major credit and debit cards. In addition, we offer CareCredit, a patient payment program offering a full range of no interest and extended payment plans. To apply for CareCredit, click here. We offer a 5% fee reduction if services are paid in full with check or cash two business days prior to appointment.
Membership Club
If you do not have dental insurance we offer an in-house membership club that offers you similar savings to what a dental insurance plan might offer. Some of the features include cleanings, necessary x-rays, doctors exams, and a 10% discount on treatment all for a small monthly fee. Conditions apply. You can learn more and sign up for this club here.
Deposit and Missed Appointments Policy
Our staff and doctors devote an extensive amount of time preparing and reserving uninterrupted time for your appointment, we require a 20% deposit for all appointments over $500 or more than 1 hour in length. If you find that you must change your appointment, we require a minimum of 48 business hours notice so that we can make every effort to accommodate other patients. If proper notice is not received, you will be charged a fee of $75. This time is reserved especially for you, and we hope that it is as important to you as it is to us.
